Being a brand agent

I recently signed up to a website that enables you to become a brand testing agent. Bzzagent is a free site to sign upto both in the UK and the USA/Canada. You simply enter a few small details about yourself and then answer some surveys on different subjects from household topics to personal interests etc. Once that has been complete you will be invited to take part in a 'campaign' (testing a product). It can be to try anything. At the minute I'm testing Flora original butter, Batiste dry shampoo, conditioning mist and plumping powder plus Persil small and mighty. Each kit is sent quite swiftly(not bad for Royal Mail!) and in there is your free product/voucher to get said product plus a good handful of vouchers to dish out to friends and family to encourage the purchasing.

Bzzagent works on the good old method of word of mouth product promoting. I have always been one for recommending products, especially when it's made a positive impact on myself. What's even better is that it also helps you channel your good views via social media sites (Facebook/twitter). You in return can send a little report directly on Bzzagent and can post little snippets on the social media sites which in return helps you build up a score that then impacts on you being invited to more 'campaigns'. Along the way too you earn little achievements which is really helps encourage the spreading of the word.

I really do recommend anyone signing up and also to any companies who want honest opinions on their products to get in touch as it really is a genuine people's place and with the wonderful world of social media and bloggers it can really enhance a product!!

Behold an open mind!!

Have you ever been around a certain type of person who are very set in their ways with just about everything in their lives pretty much exactly the same week in week out, from the clothes they wear to the same hairstyle. Even the places or things they do in their spare time. Well I was one of those people as was my husband until we started slowly in small steps began to be that bit more open minded!!

Over the last few weeks I seem to have had more confidence about myself and had feelings of nice continuous happiness for a change which seems to have grown from opening my mind up. I always thought I was good at making a choice or having a nice variety of things until one day when I looked at myself in the mirror and was so shocked at the reflection staring back. The clothes on me were just plain and boring but safe, my hair the same as always and my makeup (a slick of foundation). I just looked like I had had the life sucked out of me. That moment a little switch flicked on and when it came to my next shopping trip (conveniently my birthday), I decided that this was the time to be open minded and dare to try different things that wouldn't be my 'norm' .
It turned out to be a lot of fun and very surprising. I suddenly was the owner of clothes that were of different colours and styles. I even dared to buy 2 lipsticks (this stuff normally scares me!) I normally go on these kind of trips with a one track mind of "oh that will never look nice on me" or "I don't do colours especially with lippy" I can't tell you how frustrating those trips were on my poor suffering Husband and my Mum and Sister. But also on myself, every time I would come home feeling more rubbish than I when I set off. But stepping outside the comfort zone and trying things I would never dare to before has created a new turning point to which has now spread to other aspects of life including work.

I think we all can be guilty at some point in our lives of not having an open mind and immediately limiting ones own abilities of achieving anything wether it be big, small, competitively, or not being able to see different opinions as acceptable because our own narrow mindness has clouded that considerably to the point you end up sulking because it doesn't fit right with oneself.

Maybe in this day and age it would benefit more people/society/communities/politics to be more open minded about anything and everything. Ok so we all do like a good debate now and again but there's too much going on around the world to be tunnel visioned.

So how about you? Are you going to make a small step and try have more of an open mind?

A New beginning

So here I am!! It's Friday night the sun is nice and bright still and for some reason I have decided to embark on the journey of "Blogging"

I've never really understood what blogs where all about and haven't read many but reading a little into them it seems you can blog just about anything really! Great for me as I do love to chat and share my views on many different things and I have been through a few tough life events that may be shared to hopefully help others.

Let me first introduce you to myself. My name is Nichola Walker (Nikki for short) I am 27 years old and I am a married full time worker and mum to daughter Hollie aged 8. I enjoy lots of different things from all kinds of music to plenty of tv. I love history and discovery. I am a typical lady who likes to indulge in shopping, chatting, make-up, pampering etc. I am a cancerian and love nothing better than making sure my family are happy and spending time with them.

I look forward to any reviews or questions or just general opinions (everyone has one!) and hopefully will blog again in the near future!!
